I chose KSU because I had attended KSU for my undergrad experience, and then I saw how amazing our graduate programs were.

Many of our students who start off as undergraduate students, take advantage of the double owl program that lets them take up to nine credit hours that they can feed into the graduate program.

I've been learning a lot about not only therapeutic practices, but also how to community organize and develop and also to advocate for the communities we want to serve. At a higher level, I have a professor who is not only a licensed clinical social worker, but she's also a marriage and family therapist, and those are two things I aspire to be. So it's very nice to not only have a professor, but mentors as well. If you obtain a degree and you say that you're a social worker, you truly are not a social worker unless it is accredited by CSW bean. It is the gold standard when it comes to social work. Our KSU program has been flawless when it comes to our accreditation, we do have various concentrations, but one thing that I think is quite valuable from our student perspective is you can also be a generalist. It allows students to be able to get exposure to different client populations and communities that maybe they never even considered as a pathway for employment or further avocation, being able to go into child welfare, medical social work, psychiatric social work, all the different paths to help you be a better clinical social worker in the future. Is very, very helpful.

We do have a joint MSW MBA program, which allows you to complete two degree programs with the MBA you learn about the business affairs and the administration of possibly having your own clinic or working within a larger organizational setting for any institution, the one thing you want to look at first and foremost is, what is the pass rate of the examinations that are required for the students when they graduate? And so that's for us, something that we're very proud of because of the fact that our pass rate is one of the highest in the state. We have such a great program, so much opportunity. And not only that, but it's located in a place where you have so many internship opportunities, where even students are able to get employment opportunities now or even after they graduate. So I definitely think that I'm on a high path towards success after graduation.
